Music Ministry

About our Music Ministry

We are very blessed here at the Fairlawn Church of God with a dynamic Praise and Worship Team, a fantastic Sanctuary Choir and gifted musicians; but the greatest asset that sets this church apart and makes it known for its Music Ministry is the anointing. We know that our number one objective is to lead the congregation into His presence every time we take the platform. Once the Service begins, it’s no longer about perfection or performance; it’s all about lifting up our voices and instruments with one sound in praising and magnifying the Lord.

My vision for the worship at Fairlawn Church of God comes from Luke 7: 36-38.

Now one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have dinner with him, so he went to the Pharisee’s house and reclined at the table. When a woman who had lived a sinful life in that town learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, she brought an alabaster jar of perfume, and as she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them.”

When I think about the woman who was mentioned in this scripture, I can’t help but think how awesome her act of worship was. Many who were there looked upon her with scorn and thought that anointing Jesus with such expensive oil was wasteful. Jesus ignored all that. She brought her most costly possession and gave it to Jesus freely. She humbled herself before Him and washed His feet as a servant would. Jesus honored her that day and offered her forgiveness.

That’s the kind of worship we devote ourselves to here at the Fairlawn Church of God. We always seek that intimate relationship with Jesus, with the number one goal of giving Jesus our all and inviting Him to inhabit our praise and worship. Our desire is for the Holy Spirit to fill this house every Sunday just like the woman’s perfume filled the room that day.
